Well we are a set of “computer Oldies” that started in the computer industry at the start of the 1980s.

Back in “those days” there were no Manuals, and knowledge was gained by experimentation and telephone lessons between friends.

We can well remember (with fond memories) the Apple computers with the separate 8″ Megastor floppy disk drive and it was a “real big time thing”

Progress came slowly and was very expensive yet we did welcome the smaller 3″ floppy drive and of course the big event was going from 40 characters to 80 characters on the screen.

When Corvus came out with their Hard Drive and ability to back-up onto a V.H.S. tape we thought we were “real big time”.

There was NO INTERNET

Amazing as it might seems to you, there are some of us still alive – when there was NO INTERNET.

During those early days we wanted to have one computer talk to another – even in the same room and on the same desk just some 2 feet away.

It was no laughing matter during those days. Many computer people would dissolve into language such as “#$%&$#*” before a fit of depression when the computers

failed to handshake using the “acoustic modem” on the 300bps baud rate.

Eventually thanks to groups like APARNET we saw the “birthing of public internet” and over the years things improved.

Eventually there was Microsoft and HTML and CSS and well you know the Internet today.

So where to from here …

Well as a group of oldies we are very excited for you in the younger generation.

Graphics and things like smarter mobile phones lead us to believe greater things are still to come.

Thankfully, many of our older customer still like us and take our advice on Products we recommend.

Most suppliers are surprised that when we recommend a product … it starts to fly, thankfully to our reputation for “picking the best” – if you get my concept.
